Guwahati: At least twelve people were killed on Friday when suspected militants opened fire at a busy market in Kokrajhar town in Assam, police said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday that the government was closely monitoring the situation in Assam where a terror attack left at least eight people dead.
Rajnath Singh said in a tweet that he had spoken to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who informed him about the situation in Kokrajhar town where the killings took place.
