New Delhi: French gymnast Samir Ait Said severely broke his leg while performing vault during men’s qualifications at 2016 Rio Olympics on Saturday.
Said, 26, left leg dangling from below his knee following a crash landing from the vault. The cracking sound of the injury was so loud it could be hear in live coverage of the event.
The French athlete won gold on the rings at the 2013 European Championships and then silver on the same apparatus in 2015.
