Rima Fakih: First Muslim Miss USA converts to Christianity

Washington: Rima Fakih, believed to be the first Muslim woman win the title Miss USA  has reportedly converted to Christianity.

According to FoxNews, Fakih, who became first Muslim and Arab-American to win the title in 2010 has gave her life to Christ last month, ahead of  her wedding to her Christian fiancee music producer Wassim Salibi..

Fakih, Lebanese-American was born into a Shiite Muslim sect is also once trained to be a WWE women’s wrestler.

In 2010,  she told the Huffington Post that her family’s religious beliefs have always been open. “We’re more of a spiritual family,” she explained. “Religion really doesn’t define me or my family. My family’s been very liberal, and we appreciate all different kinds of religions.”

Fakih added that “I have a family that is a mix of different religions and different ethnicities. My brother-in-law is Christian, and he (and my sister) baptized their two sons. I have an uncle who converted to Christianity, and he’s a priest now.”

The couple will marry  in Lebanon later this month, according to Christian Today.

The 30-year-old starlet is yet to confirmed the reports of her conversion but in March, Fakih did quote the Bible  in tweets she posted from Philippians, seemingly signaling her conversion.
